C-MACC – Sunday Recap

Americans Are Spending: For How Long?

  • Robust US consumer spending is being directed towards the home – remodeling, new appliances, new furniture and outdoor equipment to improve the experience of advised seclusion – some spending areas (in consumable packaging products and durable good categories) are likely much more sustainable than others.
  • We focus on the primary longer-term beneficiary in our view; PVC, and highlight strength not just in the US but also globally (led by Asia) – several factors support PVC staying stronger for longer than polyethylene and especially polypropylene.
  • This week we discussed 35 Chemical and related products and 73 Companies
We note that while some sector M&A is emerging we are in a quiet period that is more than just COVID driven, with ESG and climate change not necessarily impacting what a company can earn, but what those earnings might be worth

C-MACC is hiring:  We are looking to fill two positions, one in sales and marketing and one in consulting.  In both cases we are looking for some previous experience, but we are looking for the right people before the right experience – we are a small company and fit is critical – send resumes and a cover letter to either of us.
