C-MACC Sunday Recap 59

Ship to Wreck: And The Supply-Chain Challenges Continue!

  • The Ever Given may have been refloated by the time this report is read, but it has thrown another supply chain wrench into the machine – it is a unique event, but so was the Texas Freeze and so was COVID – all in the same 14 months.
  • We see a unique opportunity for the Biden Administration and a bipartisan Congress to give US manufacturing investment the slight nudge that it needs to increase dramatically, as many of the stars are aligned because of recent events
  • Investments will need to meet tougher ESG related standards but could be a major positive for US chemical and polymer makers, replacing higher valued domestic demand for lower-valued exports.

Last week we discussed 28 Chemical and related products and 90 Companies.
